The new PORTRA 400 offers a significantly finer grain structure for improved scanning and enlarging in modern workflows. Among ISO 400/27° color negative films, Portra 400 currently has the finest grain.
 
However, in terms of sharpness and resolution, Fujifilm PRO 400H and Superia X-tra 400 deliver better values.
 
Portra 400 exhibits a warm color reproduction (slightly warmer than Portra 160). Color saturation is also slightly higher than Portra 160. Skin tones are rendered very well with good differentiation.
 
It is the ideal choice for portrait and fashion photography, as well as general outdoor photography where quick movements need to be captured, or in situations where lighting cannot be controlled.
