Double-X 5222 was first introduced by Eastman Kodak in 1959 and quickly became one of the most popular recording materials for filmmakers and photographers. Since its inception, not much has changed in the emulsion. Kodak has been offering the film primarily in the professional cinema sector as a motion picture film for years. However, Cinestill has taken the initiative to roll the film into standard 35mm cartridges with DX coding, allowing still photographers to benefit from its unique look.
